Lehman is survived by his wife, Delores his children, Sonje (Dennis) Brown, Byron Tweeten, and Nance (Tom) Sheimo his grandchildren, Scott (Theresa) Brown, Jennifer (Brad) Salmon, Alison Tweeten, Trisca (Jameson) Mayberry and great-grandchildren, Nick, Zack and Jacob Salmon, and Faith and Lily Brown two sisters, Katherine Larson and Arlene Grimm sister-in-law, Darlene Tweeten and several nieces and nephews. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Forest City Evening Lions Club. He sang with community choirs, groups of four and the Forest City Barbershop Chorus. He was a life- long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for 30 years. In 1983 he retired and spent his winters in McAllen, Texas, where he was an associate member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a member of the choir. After selling the bakery, he worked for Teslow-Lichtsinn Motors, as a salesman. During this time, he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce. They farmed until 1968, when they purchased the Forest City Bakery. To this union, three children were born, Sonje, Byron and Nance. Lehman was united in marriage to Delores Olson at Grant Lutheran Church on May 14, 1939. He played clarinet in the first band at the Forest City High School. Valley Township and graduated from Forest City High School in 1935. Lehman received his education at Vatne School #8 in Mt. He was baptized at Winnnebago Lutheran Church and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Valley Township to Benny and Clara (Swenson) Tweeten. Lehman Byron Tweeten was born on December 17, 1916, in Mt. Visitation will be one hour prior to services, at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City. Lehman Tweeten, 96, of Forest City, died Sunday, Octoat the Good Samaritan Care Center in Forest City.įuneral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating.
